I finally got tired of getting dark and grainy pictures and decided to choose the target for today's photo based on what I could shoot from some sort of platform. The problem was that it's -20C outside and I really didn't want to walk far.
Today I didn't need to walk alone for Tuomo came with me. Good thing that he did. I was so tired that I was ready to skip the walk altogether, but Tuomo dragged me out. The walk was about 20 minutes long. Weather has still been nice: around -10C and pretty clear skies.
I was going to visit the post office, shortly pop in our neighbourhood grocery store and then take a walk of some 20 minutes. But in the store I had to wait for a half an hour in line to pay for my groceries. So the walk was, all in all, maybe 15 minutes long, and there wasn't much time to stop and take a photo.
This is a street really close to our home. The original picture was quite dark so I had to use GIMP pretty much. I kind of like the end result, though.
I had a morning lesson again. Close to the University is a botanical garden. I went there to photograph after the lesson now that there was some light. The walk took about 20 minutes and weather was warm (-5) and clear. I think today's picture is really cute.
Someone sat on the bench and left their mark. I can almost see the person sitting comfortably and enjoying the scenery. This kind of pictures are perfect food for imagination!
This is why I should do my walks in morning. I had a kung-fu lesson again and when I was cycling back home from there I was sweaty, cold, tired and hungry. I really didn't feel like stopping to take a good picture. So today you get an artsy version of a picture I took from grocery store's parking lot. It was a very unsuccessful shot but I made it a bit more interesting with GIMP.
It's frustratingly difficult to get a good picture when it's dark and I don't have a tripod with me. I tried to find something interesting that would be right underneath a street light. I had already given up and walked back home when I noticed this.
This time I combined an evening walk and stopping by our local store. So my route wasn't very beautiful or interesting. This is the best shot I got during my walk. I walked for about 20 minutes in a really slight icy snow rain type weather. Temperature is still about -7C.
Today I first had some errands to run at the city center and then a kung-fu lesson. Usually I go to the kung-fu training hall by bike, but today I went there from the city center by bus and came back home by foot. So yesterday's walk was less than 5km and it took around 1 hour. The weather was still very nice, about -8C and no rain or slush. Still my legs were freezing when I got home. I need to recheck my wardrobe apparently.
"Morning walk" is maybe not the right term when I go out after 11, but the weather was wonderful and the walk was refreshing. -12C, sun shone from a clear blue sky, not very many people around and no wind at all. I walked for about 15-20 minutes. That's enough time to visit a small lake that is nearby.
This picture is from Pyykösjärvi. Sun is almost at it's highest for today. The skier didn't know that he got in a picture, too :)
This morning I had to be at a lecture at 8:30. Needless to say, I didn't wake up early enough to have time for a seperate walk and still be in time for the lecture. So I just enjoyed my walk to the university (which was to the other end of this same road, not very long at all...), walked a little bit different routes than normally and stopped to find a good picture.
