The last morning in Braunschweig was quite sad. We got up early to pack our luggage and have some breakfast. Around 7:30 it was time for the Finnish group to squeeze into cars and get to the railway station. We said goodbye to the English group and to the Germans who had gotten there so early to say goodbye. The English group would still have a day in Braunschweig as their train didn't leave until that evening.
We travelled from Braunschweig to Berlin to Helsinki to Oulu that day. It was quite hard to realize that we're really at home now and that we would not meet the friends we made in Braunschweig for at least another year. The travelling went quite smoothly though and we could finally crash on our own sofa around six in the evening.
Luckily there's a lot of pictures that people have put online for us to see. Those make getting back to normal life a bit easier. Internet has made many other things easier, too. We've listened to "99 luftballons" and other Nena's songs from Spotify, as well as some Kraftwerk. Most importantly we've had a chance to chat and see Facebook messages from our new and old friends. That way it doesn't feel like they'd be that far away at all.
